Realistically, changing the rates was a band-aid. Grade 11 materials were added to them at the same time that the slot machine became available AND people had huge stockpiles of scrap hoarded from packs / conquest rewards AND the machines were spewing out scrap too generously so that it was easy to replenish scrap stockpiles after turning them into high grade materials AND the prices work out so that in most cases each unit of scrap is a magic super-material instead of working like a unit of currency to purchase materials at rates that enforce the rarity of higher grade materials.) (Of course, part of the problem is that the pricing scheme at the Jawa vendors probably never should have been introduced as generously as we have them either. But I do think that the idea could have been thought out better before they introduced it and there could have been any number of better solutions that they could have looked into. I personally am not calling out for refunds or claiming that they lied to us or anything like that. The problem is that it went from one extreme to another when they did change it and the one additional drop that was added is not considered to be a worthwhile replacement for what was lost. It was obvious that something needed to happen and I don't think you'll find anyone who thinks otherwise. Oh, and part of the nerf wasn't properly documented, oh the horror!
